New mix baby

Fabsabs' Apple wheel of death mix by FabsabsHK

Hey dudes, back after a very long absence! Here is November's mix for ya.

1) Billy Taylor - I wish I knew how

For some reason, I've taken to this as an intro track. It was the theme for that film review show in the UK... name???

2) The Soul Saints Orchestra - Bag of soul

Got this track off the Pow Wow compilation from the excellent Jazzman Records. Sick bassline.

3) Chubby fingers - My old piano

It's a cover from a Diana Ross track. Hot Chip also used it as inspiration for a track called "My Piano". Cute little number.

4) The Juan MacLean - Happy House

Funky spacy house track with trippy bass and vocals. Me likeee.

5) GRUM - Heartbeats

Lovely electro-indish number with an uplifting refrain, some nice remixes out there from GRUM as well otherwise.

6) Bag Raiders - Fun Punch

The guitar hook is killer. Another track to look for is "Shooting Star".

7) Sylvester - You make me feel (mighty real)

A real camp classic from disco era, but I kinda love it, someone said they like this stuff for bike races. So it's not just gay clubbers that like it!

8) Bernard Herrmann – Theme from Psycho (Crooks & Gunn Psych! Remix)

A fun remix, but I've not had the balls to play this one in a club!

9) Chase and Status - Eastern Jam

Drum n bass producers on dubstep duty, nice sample and percussive work.

10) Cylob - Rewind

Love or loath, this track off the Reflex label has got the robot vocals to crack you up, big time!

11) Lenni Sesar Morris Park - Bonde De Role Remix

Got that Brazil funk feel, remix from indie darlings Bonde De Role. Dodgy cut on the mix!

12) Wilson Simonal - Mexerico da Candinha

Brazilian funky stuff from the 1970s. Don't have a clue what he's on about, but it just sounds lively.

13) Dr. Kucho! - Kung Fu Funk

Listen carefully and you can hear a crap mix that I edited out. Oh well! Dr. Kucho! has a pretty original take on dance, "Holy spirit" is another decent track...

14) Mr. Oizo - Gay Dentists

Unplayable track, except for a few segments, but really funky dancy stuff when it's good.

15) Voodoo Chilli - Get On Down

Horn heavy retro funk production dance track... songs like these are only playable for a minute before people get a bit tired...

16) Kid sister, Pase Rock, Tittsworth - WTF (Nadastrom On Drugs Remix)

Four big hitters here, producers Tittsworth and Nadastrom with Kid Sister and Pase Rock, awesome vocalists rapping it up with old school breakdowns...

17) Duke Dumont - Hoy

Very experimental, and rather unplayable in clubs, but I did think about for this mix, just because, why not? Cool Indian influences...

18) Miles Davis - SHHH/PEACEFUL

This is from In a Silent Way. I couldn't cue up a track in time so I just threw it on, very mellow....better while stoned for sure!

19) The Yardbirds For Your Love - (Ursula 1000 Re-Think)

It's a "re-think" guys. hahaha. Whatever that means; Ursula 1000 is a pretty sick producer with some classic jazzy dance tracks under his belt, in a exotica, bossa, and mambo style. Here he takes on The Yardbirds, famous for starting the careers of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. Apparently Clapton did not like the track much and left the band... oh well, all is forgiven.

20) UNKLE Keys To The Kingdom - Lee Coombs Remix

It's a newer UNKLE track and I've always been a fan - here is a pretty sweet remix...

21) Mujava - Township Funk (Phra Crookers Supertrance Refix)

Usually when I hear the word "trance" I run a mile, but this is a cool remix of a big hit this year... very fresh and dirty, but generally good stuff.

Oh, and that was where my laptop crashed. Dec mix coming soon!
